The Modoc Fire Safe Council has a strong track record of wildfire mitigation work across Modoc County. Through partnerships with CAL FIRE, the U.S. Forest Service, BLM, and local fire departments, MFSC has completed fuel reduction projects targeting high-risk areas with treatments such as fuel break construction and maintenance, pile burning, and hazardous tree removal expanding protection for neighborhoods and improving firefighter access throughout the county.
