The Modoc Fire Safe Council continues to plan and pursue wildfire mitigation across Modoc County. While no projects are actively underway at this time, MFSC has pending applications with Cal Fire’s Wildfire Prevention program. These proposals target high‑risk areas with treatments such as fuel break maintenance, pile burning, and dead tree removal. Once approved, they will expand protection for neighborhoods and improve firefighter access.
