Projects Overview

Working Together for a Safer Modoc

The Modoc Fire Safe Council (MFSC) partners with residents, agencies, and contractors to reduce wildfire risk across Modoc County. Since 2004, MFSC has implemented projects that create fuel breaks, thin hazardous vegetation, and improve defensible space around communities. These efforts are funded through federal, state, and local grants, and they remain central to protecting lives, property, and natural resources.

Our projects fall into two categories:

  • Current Projects: Pending or active initiatives designed to address today’s wildfire challenges.
  • Past Projects: Completed projects that continue to provide long‑term protection and lessons for future work.
