Fort Bidwell Community Wildfire Preparedness Day

On national Wildfire Community Preparedness Day, MFSC joined the Fort Bidwell Fire Department, the Fort Bidwell Indian Community, Lomakatsi, CAL FIRE, USFS, BLM, and community volunteers for a day of work in Fort Bidwell. Crews created defensible space around vulnerable homes, cleared roadside vegetation along evacuation routes, and burned collected debris at the community drop-off site. Residents could also request a free smoke alarm, and MFSC submitted those requests to the American Red Cross.
