Michelle Radtke

Position: Wildfire Mitigation Coordinator

As Wildfire Mitigation Coordinator for the Modoc Fire Safe Council, I focus on planning and implementing fuel reduction projects that reduce wildfire risk and strengthen community resilience. From strategic vegetation management to large-scale mitigation planning, I collaborate with local partners and agencies to protect Modoc's landscapes and neighborhoods.

Before joining MFSC, I spent several years with the California Department of Motor Vehicles in Alturas, most recently as Office Manager. That work taught me how to keep complicated things organized and moving, which turns out to be most of what grant-funded projects require.

Outside of MFSC, I serve as president of the Cedar Pass Summerland Property Owners Association board, secretary of the Modoc County Fair board, and secretary of the Modoc Economic Development committee. Living in a subdivision that plans its own road maintenance and fire clearance has given me a homeowner's view of what wildfire risk looks like from your own front porch.

Grounded in organization and a deep belief in the power of people, my work is inspired by faith and a love for the outdoors. I strive to bring practical solutions, encouragement, and resilience to every corner of our county.
