I was born and raised in Modoc County, and I have a deep, personal connection to the people and the communities we serve. I’ve had the honor of working with—and for—the Modoc Fire Safe Council (MFSC) since 2003, and was proud to assist the Board in securing our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in 2007. In 2005 I met my husband while touring a MFSC project site in the CalPines area, when we had to stop at Deer Springs CalFire Station to get directions.
Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand how dedicated collaboration and grassroots efforts can make our rural communities stronger and more resilient in the face of wildfire. My love for the mission and vision of the Modoc Fire Safe Council continues to grow, especially as we expand our programs in education, defensible space, fuel reduction, and community preparedness.
It is incredibly rewarding to work with a team that shares my passion for protecting the people, landscapes, and way of life that make Modoc County so special.
